The UT Dallas Annual Business Idea Competition is sponsored by the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UT Dallas (IIE). The competition, held during the Fall semester of each year, includes both undergraduate and graduate divisions. Scholarship awards and cash prizes will be offered to student teams for the best business ideas in each division.

The Boot Camp is a one-day course providing an introduction to the technology commercialization process, including the identification and evaluation of market opportunities for new technologies, technology commercialization processes and guidelines, intellectual property considerations, development of business plans and the sources of financing for start-ups.

Since its founding more than three decades ago, the Caruth Institute has continuously developed innovative courses and programs to help individuals keep pace with the dynamic, rapidly changing field of entrepreneurship. The Institute currently offers more than 18 custom-designed courses to give students the skills and knowledge necessary to launch and manage successful entrepreneurial ventures. Offers over 20 for-credit university courses, requires admissions to degree program, and Non-credit certificate course on Starting A Business--8 sessions-- for current and aspiring entrepreneurs --$675 for entire program, with open admissions, offered three times a year

Through the generous support of the Texas Instruments Foundation, full or partial scholarships will be available for students who qualify for financial aids. The Innovation Opportunity Camp will be held at the School of Management on the UT Dallas campus. The program will be taught by UT Dallas faculty, entrepreneurs, venture capital and private equity investors and selected service providers.
